Are you kidding me???

I haven't missed a stage of the Tour de France since 2001 and have grown used to wasting my July in front of the TV listening to Paul and Phil call the race.
A couple of days ago, I was shocked to see that Alexander Vinokourov was expelled from the race for a blood transfusion prior to his time trial victory. So I am thinking, well, there's the one doper this year.
Then, this morning I wake up, turn on the tv and start watching the beginning of stage 17 and Versus leads with the report that Rasmussen has been expelled for not providing the sport with his whereabouts. Then, team Cofidis also pulls out because one of their riders failed a test.
I mean sure, if the NFL tested every linebacker that got a sack after the game, I am sure that there would be a lot fewer linebackers in the league. I know cycling gets a bad rap because they test their winners, but there should definitely be a way that they can stop this. Who are the doctors and directors allowing this to happen? Those guys should also be banned from their professions.
I do like how cycling bans dopers for 2 years though, I would like to see the same kind of punishment in all of our US sports.

Alberto Contador kicks ass! Too bad Team Discovery Channel dissolved. Hopefully Trek will find another team to sport the new Madones. I'm with you though Jerry, I have watched the Tour since 1986 when Lemond won his first.
