The altitude rocks

So I have tried running now two different times. Running at 6200ft is quite different than running at sea level - less drag. I think I blew out a ventrical this morning on my run, hopefully I will be better by Saturday. I have to start my training this weekend. I have signed up for the America's Finest City half marathon in San Diego in August, so I have to figure out how to run more than 2 miles...
The people in CO have different hot rods than those in San Diego. I have been egged on to race by 3 different people in the 2 days I have been here. One was a mustang with a super charger (who does that), the other was a corvette, and of course a rice burner tried his luck. Any more, I am not so easily taunted. I figure, my car doesn't have anything to prove, so just go ahead, see you later at the stop light.
I haven't heard from Kurtiss lately, must still be in detox.
I was prompted to sign up for that half marathon by Bake sending an email stating he signed up. I am totally going blood free this time.

I left California

I finally moved today. The movers picked up my stuff on Thursday, so I figured it was about time.
I had a great weekend with Bake and Camian staying at my place. A couple of days down at the beach, a couple of rounds at the bar, a couple of good meals and I am gone. Many thanks to Bake and Cam for finishing my packing for me. I should have been more prepared but those two kick ass.
So I made it as far as Utah driving today. I stopped in some pisshole of a town called Richfield. I have about 460 miles to drive tomorrow, so I should be pulling into my brother Jim and his wife's place around 4pm on Wednesday. I can't forget to call my new job, I need to setup an appt to get a badge. I would hate to start out my new job by blowing things off...

Nice wedding day

I went to Ray and Mandi's wedding today and had a pretty good time. Kurtiss was supposed to be a groomsman in the wedding, so I was surprised not to see him there. Apparently, he shouldn't have had an $1100 tab at the bar the night before. I would hate to be there the first time he meets up with Ray and Mandi. I am sure that she is going to have more than one nice word for him...
The wedding was awesome though. Ray cried during the ceremony, Mandi wiped the tears off his cheek, good stuff.
I hung out with Bake (in from ABQ for the weekend) and Travis (in from Baghdad for the week) over at Travis' place this evening. We played a couple games of poker, and I just got back home. We are having my going away party Sunday night. I am really looking forward to that. We are going to Mr. A's for dinner and should have a really good time.
